I’m not sure how my $100 will help, but its better than sitting here thinking about this tragedy.
Unicef will send 100% of donations they receive onto helping the victims of the Tsunami.

Something you don’t need but is strangely appealing in a weird consumeristic way, iPod Socks

Sad

Wednesday, December 29th, 2004

This Tsunami tragedy is getting worse by the hour. Everytime I turn on the news, the toll has risen. I’m sure there will be more as the tides come back in. This doesn’t compare to a terrorist attack or war, but so many innocent people have perished… at first I thought 13 000 was too many… now its 60 000 and still counting.

Merry Xmas

Thursday, December 23rd, 2004

Its been a great year, out of the 4 Life Domains, Love, Profession. Friends and Play; I think I’ve achieved 3 out of the 4 adequately. Started the year in Cairnes, ended it in Noosa. Lots of work on. Met some great friends and all the ones that matter are still in my life.

And… This musn’t be my week though, got fined for pulling out of a parking spot while on the phone on Wednesday, today, my car died on me 500 metres from home. Thanks Santa.

Teachers

Tuesday, December 21st, 2004

I’ud hate to be a teacher, well, a year 6 or a year 12 teacher. Every year you have to say good bye to your students. Either wishing them well for high school or hoping that you have taught them enough life skills to embark on the big wide world after year 12.

One of my little sisters just finished year 6 today, coming home telling stories of friends and teachers crying. I don’t think I cried at on my last day of year 6, but it was a bit emotional. All your friends going separate ways. It was pretty much the same when year 12 finished. Its coming onto the 8th year now since I finished year 12, I wonder if theres going to be a re-union?

I love sites like School Friends

TIME: Person of the Year and In Pictures

Monday, December 20th, 2004

I can’t believe he won the US Elections a second time. Now I’m in disbelief again as Time Magazine names him Person of the Year for 2004! Also check out Year In Pictures 2004

edit. In the interest of fairness, I shouldn’t bag Bush and not provide solutions. So, here’s some alternate suggestions for Person of the Year.
1. A Potato - Looks like Bush but with more brains.
2. A Chimpanzee - Also looks like bush, probably has more brains.
3. Michael Moore - Yeah I know some of his stuff is not credable and one sided, but he’s done more good than Bush.
4. Oprah - Everyone will get a car and she would do a better job at being president.
