Bokeh

Tuesday, February 15th, 2005

One of the main reason why I’m starting to dislike using a normal digital camera is that you can’t get the “Bokeh” effect with them. I’ve got a soft spot for blurry out of focus photos.

Big Ass Collage

Everytime I come across this on my computer, it makes me want to buy a place and start collaging the walls. This is definitely something I’m going to have to do one day… when I move out of home.

Don’t we all want to earn a 6 figure salary, see what you’re worth. Now excuse me while I go book my month long holiday to Europe and figure out which BMW I want to purchase with my freelance salary.

The fall of Saigon Exhibition: test image

Saturday, February 5th, 2005

As part of my work for The Fall of Saigon Exhibition, I’m going to create 27 mini panels measuring 20cm x 20cm, all with varying designs. This is my test panel. I can safely say that I’ve got the ironing of t-shirt prints and stretching of canvases onto mounts down pat.

Spotlight Fabrics

Goto Spotlight to find suitable material to mount and iron prints on. Spotlight is a really cool place, if you’re looking for a type of fabric or zipper, its your candy store.

The Fall of Sagion test design print

Test design for the iron on t-shirt prints. Thanks to Wink for the very nice photoshop brushes.

The Fall of Sagion test iron on print

Finished stretched cotton fabric with iron on t-shirt print design. The fabric I chose is a white 100% cotton material that has a nice floral pattern embroidered all over it. Other uses for this material include, pillow cases and table clothes. I used Epson iron on t-shirt transfers printed on an Epsom Sytlus C61, the colours come out more saturated on the prints, thats a good thing in this case. I’m not sure how they would stand up to washing, but on the flat panel, they look really good.
