Beautiful examples of graphical information design, History Shots.

Many years ago, SBS were showing very late at night an animated series called Aeon Flux, it was totally unique in its story telling, character design and style. Along with Neon Genesis, Aeon Flux was addictive viewing. Peter Chung the creator of Aeon Flux also directed an episode of the Animatrix called Maticulated .
I’m looking forward to seeing the live action movie of Aeon Flux but not so sure if Charlize Theron can pull of the character or not, I can’t see her as an action heroine.

Good color/colour scheme resource and color/colour scheme generator .

I’m guilty of a few of these over the years Design Clichés. Great insight into the redesigning of HOW and Print magazine.
What I liked about Batman Begins was that it didn’t have a myriad of big name stars vying for your attention. A perfect example of this is Gary Oldman playing policeman Jim Gordan, I didn’t realise it was him until the credits came up. Sure there were lots of stars but they played their own parts without trying to steal the whole scene, Michael Caine or Liam Neeson could probably carry a movie on their own.
The other thing it didn’t have which was suitable, was a big flashing intro title sequence, instead a swarm of bats, a key part of the story, leads you into the movie. Initially I had my doubts about this film, not wanting to see it on the big screen, I was turned off by the George Clooney version, it was colourful, comical and over the top, better suited to the old TV series. I like Batman Begins, one of the better comic to movie adaptions that actually made me feel something for the character, that hasn’t happened since Casper, haha.
To use their symbolism of falling, I think with the past Batman movies DC stumbled and fell heavily, with Batman Begins, they’ve picked themselves up and delivered something with much needed substance, it was engaging and true to the feel of the comics. I loved that one scene where Batman is standing on top of that spire while the camera panes around him showing Gotham in the background.

I’m not too keen on the new DC logo. It would sit nicely on a laundry powder pack in the supermarket.
In the same vein as Apple History, an enterprising Flickr user has posted a large selection of Apple’s Homepages over the years.
On the topic of history, how cool and whacked out would it be to scrounge through Andy Warhols many Time Capsules. The NGV had an exhibition for them that has unfortunately finished.

I heart you. Close up of “George” Michelle’s mini car. Check out more photos from the Tilt Exhibition.
