Kozy n Dan bunny wave
How cool! KOZYNDAN are coming to Australia for their first ever exhibition at the Outre Galleries in March next year. I bought the above print from their online shop sometime last year, I love it, not only because its used on John Mayers AS/IS live album, its a play on one of my favourite Hokusai Prints too.

COFA 05
Managed to go see the COFA Graduationg Student Exhibition 05 last Thursday among the many things I had to do that day. I found myself there around 3pm, 3 hours before it was supposed to open. There were hardly anyone around and it was much better seeing all the works without people getting in the way. And as you do at these things, I stole a handful of student business cards.

Dara Li illustrator
Enough of my dodgey illustrations, This is my friend Dara Li’s digital illustration work, she’s an artist/designer with whom I studied at Enmore Designer Centre with. I’m hosting them for her because she doesn’t have a website. Dara never tells me her age, but she is married and has a lovely daughter who plays the violin and likes to go swimming. What english skills Dara lacks she more than makes up for it in artist prowess.

Birdie in a Sock
Illustration for Pink Punk Collective 02. Its a mix of Illustrator and Photoshop, all started from a pen sketch of one of those socks with the toe ends. I don’t know what it means, its just a bird who’s taken a sock as its home in a big city.

City Shorts

Sunday, November 13th, 2005

Is it me or are City Shorts so hot this summer? I’m talking about the short shorts, its like a mini skirt with more curves. Seems like every second girl and woman in Sydney is wearing them. The origin is the Bermuda Shorts. Those Bermuda guys remind me of my year 8 science teacher in his safari shorts.

Tsuzen and Little Birdy

Tsuzen Nakajima - Koi Pond
We went to the launch of Tsuzen Nakajima’s woodblock exhibition at Global Gallery last Thursday. The whole show was beautiful, filled with pretty cherry blossoms, scenes despicting Japanese life and landscapes. The above print is my favourite, Koi Pond - Nishiki. The most unique thing about all of the prints I found are the wood grain that is used to form the artwork itself, they give the work life and movement. The exhibition is on till the 4th of December and the gallery is down the next street from Ariel Bookshop.

We also went to see Little Birdy at the Metro after the exhibition. They were okay and I was singing along to some of the songs. Supprise of the night was seeing The Preset perform, they went off in a nice rock/electro/trancey sort of way.
