Tsuzen and Little Birdy
November 13th, 2005
We went to the launch of Tsuzen Nakajima’s woodblock exhibition at Global Gallery last Thursday. The whole show was beautiful, filled with pretty cherry blossoms, scenes despicting Japanese life and landscapes. The above print is my favourite, Koi Pond - Nishiki. The most unique thing about all of the prints I found are the wood grain that is used to form the artwork itself, they give the work life and movement. The exhibition is on till the 4th of December and the gallery is down the next street from Ariel Bookshop.
We also went to see Little Birdy at the Metro after the exhibition. They were okay and I was singing along to some of the songs. Supprise of the night was seeing The Preset perform, they went off in a nice rock/electro/trancey sort of way.
