My dentist is a good man because with his time and money, he goes back to Vietnam every year to teach young disadvantaged school children in the country regions of Vietnam how to brush their teeth. Almost all of these kids have never seen a toothbrush before. So for his next trip back, he asked me to design up some simple instructional posters and hand out cards for the kids to follow.

Haline helped me out by illustrating the instructional pictures (after I gave up trying to vectorise the standard Colgate airbrushed images). She thought it’ud be nice to make them more character based, so she drew the the blue tooth monster. The design isn’t too flashy, its meant to be for kids under 12 years old.

I think maybe for his next trip after this one and with more time, we might do a “donate a toothbrush” drive or something because Colgate and Oral B are very slack with sponsorship and my dentist is doing all this with his own money and the kindness from his heart. He has helpers and friends in Vietnam from the local schools who assist him go around to as many places as possible to do this.
